Abstract

The Journal of Environmental Microbiology and Toxicology remains committed to publishing high-quality research in environmental microbiology, toxicology, bioremediation, biodegradation, environmental biotechnology, biosensors, and related fields that support environmental protection and public health.   As a diamond open-access journal, all articles are free for readers and there are no charges for authors to publish articles. Although this model of open access to scientific knowledge is intended to be fair, it also has operational and financial challenges. The journal has experienced frequent disruptions in the manuscript submission system and official email services. These technical difficulties have at times impacted communication with authors, reviewers and editors. We appreciate the patience and understanding of our scholarly community as we continue to improve these services.   We are hopeful that the journal will receive more submissions of manuscripts this year in the face of these challenges especially after being included in MyCite. The recognition is an important milestone and reinforces the visibility of the journal within the research community. In future, the journal will aim to achieve an index in Scopus. This goal will be more realistic when the journal is sufficiently cited by published articles in Scopus indexed journals. We therefore encourage researchers to submit strong manuscripts, cite relevant work and support the continued development of this journal.
